If you are using the Sundial testnet, make sure your wallet is set to the Preprod (testnet) network before connecting. Connecting a mainnet wallet to the testnet dashboard will result in a network mismatch error.

1
Install your wallet extension
Download and install your preferred wallet from its official website. Create a new wallet or restore an existing one using your seed phrase. Store your seed phrase securely and never share it with anyone.
2
Switch to the testnet network (testnet only)
Open your wallet extension and navigate to its Settings or network selector. Switch the network from Mainnet to Testnet or Preprod. Your address will change to start with
addr_test1 once you are on the correct network.Skip this step if you are connecting to the Sundial mainnet.
3
Navigate to the Sundial dashboard
Go to sundialprotocol.com/dashboard in the same browser where your wallet extension is installed.
4
Click Connect Wallet
Click the Connect Wallet button in the top-right corner of the dashboard. A modal appears listing all detected wallet extensions.
5
Select your wallet and approve
Click your wallet’s name in the list. Your wallet extension will open a permission prompt asking you to approve the connection to the Sundial dashboard. Click Connect or Approve to grant access. The dashboard updates to show your address and balance once the connection is established.
Bitcoin Wallets
Bitcoin wallets are used for BTC staking through Sundial’s BTC Locker protocol. Sundial connects to Bitcoin wallets via Reown AppKit (formerly WalletConnect), which works with any WalletConnect-compatible Bitcoin wallet.1
Navigate to the Sundial dashboard
2
Open the Connect Wallet modal
Click Connect Wallet in the top-right corner. If you already have an L1 wallet connected, click Add Wallet or the Bitcoin wallet option in the same modal.
3
Select the Bitcoin option
In the wallet selection modal, choose Bitcoin as the chain. This opens the Reown AppKit connection flow.
4
Connect via WalletConnect
A QR code appears on screen. Open your Bitcoin wallet app on your mobile device and use its WalletConnect or Scan feature to scan the QR code. Alternatively, if your wallet supports WalletConnect on desktop, copy the connection URI and paste it into your wallet.
5
Approve the connection in your wallet
Your wallet will prompt you to approve the connection request from the Sundial dashboard. Confirm the approval. The dashboard now shows your Bitcoin address and BTC balance alongside your L1 wallet.
Troubleshooting
Wallet not detected on the connection modal
Wallet not detected on the connection modal
The Sundial dashboard can only detect wallet extensions that are installed in the same browser and have been set up (i.e., a wallet has been created or restored). Check that:
- Your wallet extension is installed and enabled in your browser’s extensions panel.
- You have completed the wallet setup (created or imported a wallet) — an extension that is installed but has no wallet created will not be detected.
- You are using a supported browser (Chrome, Brave, Firefox, or Edge). Safari is not supported by most wallet extensions.
Wrong network error after connecting
Wrong network error after connecting
This error means your wallet is connected to a different network than the Sundial environment you are using. If you are on the testnet dashboard, your wallet must be on Preprod / Testnet. If you are on mainnet, your wallet must be on Mainnet.Open your wallet extension, switch to the correct network, then disconnect and reconnect from the Sundial dashboard.
Transaction approval prompt not appearing
Transaction approval prompt not appearing
When Sundial requests a transaction signature, your wallet extension should automatically open a prompt. If it does not:
- Check whether your browser is blocking pop-ups from the Sundial dashboard domain. Allow pop-ups for
sundialprotocol.comin your browser settings. - Check that your wallet extension is not minimized or hidden. Some wallets open as a separate window rather than a pop-up.
- Try clicking the wallet extension icon in your browser toolbar to bring it into focus.
Balance not refreshing after a transaction
Balance not refreshing after a transaction
After completing a transaction, your displayed balance may not update immediately. This is a known issue on the testnet. Reload the dashboard page to force a fresh balance query. If the balance still appears incorrect after a reload, wait 30–60 seconds for the transaction to be processed by the node and reload again.
