Testnet Network Details
Before you claim, make sure you have the following details:Claim Testnet sBTC
1
Set your wallet to Preprod testnet
Open your wallet extension (Eternl, Lace, Typhon, Yoroi, GeroWallet, or NuFi) and navigate to its Settings or network selector. Switch the network from Mainnet to Testnet or Preprod.
If your wallet shows an address starting with
addr1 instead of addr_test1, it is still on mainnet. Switch networks before continuing.2
Copy your testnet payment address
Open the Receive screen in your wallet and copy your payment address. A valid testnet address always starts with
addr_test1. This is the address the faucet will send sBTC to — no wallet connection or signature is required on the faucet page itself.3
Go to the Sundial faucet
Navigate to sundialprotocol.com/testnet/faucet in your browser.
4
Paste your address and submit
Paste your
addr_test1... address into the Sundial testnet address input field. Click Request testnet sBTC to submit the claim.5
Confirm your claim
On success, the page displays a confirmation showing:
- Grant amount — the amount of testnet sBTC sent to your address.
- Next eligible at — the earliest time this address can claim again.
- Claim ID and Transaction hash — reference IDs you can copy for your records.
Troubleshooting Faucet Errors
"Already claimed" — cooldown period active
"Already claimed" — cooldown period active
Your address has already claimed testnet sBTC within its cooldown window. Each address must wait until the Next eligible at time shown in the last claim confirmation before it can claim again. To continue testing right away, switch your wallet to a different testnet address, or wait until the cooldown expires. You can generate additional testnet addresses from within your wallet extension.
"Invalid address" — address format not accepted
"Invalid address" — address format not accepted
The faucet only accepts standard Preprod payment addresses that start with
addr_test1. Common causes:- Your wallet is still on Mainnet — mainnet addresses start with
addr1and will be rejected. - You copied a stake address (starts with
stake_test1) instead of a payment address. Use the address from your wallet’s Receive screen, not the staking section. - You copied a script address or contract address. Use a regular wallet receive address.
"Faucet out of funds" — depleted
"Faucet out of funds" — depleted
The faucet wallet is temporarily low on testnet sBTC. The faucet is refilled periodically. Try again later — typically within a few hours.
"Browser claim limit reached" — too many claims from your network
"Browser claim limit reached" — too many claims from your network
A daily cap on total claims from a given browser or network has been reached. This limit exists to keep the shared faucet available for all testers. Try again later, or claim from a different network connection.
